There's no fabricated and simulated drama like there is in Man VS Wild, Survivorman and Dual Survival. Their series of videos "Naked Into the Wilderness" cover a wide range of survival topics from shelter construction, skinning game and preserving food, all the way to proper flint knapping techniques.

Though they aren't TV stars, John McPherson with his wife Geri have made some of the best survival instructional videos I've ever seen. I've read a few posts about Bear Grylls (Man Vs Wild), Ray Mears (Host of several survival series on BBC), Les Stroud (Survivorman), Cody Lundin & Dave Canterbury (Dual Survival, though Dave is now off the show - BUMMER), the two from Man Woman Wild, and a few other survivalist TV stars. Other times, the hikes are pretty gnarly, so the reward is seclusion when you finally make it to the top, since others can’t be bothered to do the grind.” “It’s a hit and miss – sometimes there’s people around in the public provincial parks – but those people have a good giggle and get a show out of it, so we’ve never been sassed for getting nude in nature.
I like the idea that I can freeze a moment where I’ve felt completely stoked or content, things that are honest and things that are fun.” I have a keen memory of every single one of those photos with a, ‘hurry-up-my-tits-are-freezing-face’ to accompany it. Ended up getting a sick one and decided that the first one was so much fun that I wanted keep doing it. We were both laughing so hard, I didn’t even know if I got the shot. So she did and got fully rocked by the wave. I laughed and said it would be sick if she got naked. “It started as a funny sort of joke – the first one I took was in Tofino (the one of Lisa and the big ass wave) and the blowhole itself was sick and putting her in the shot was all good, but her clothes weren’t popping enough. They just get it – they won’t hesitate to take their clothes off in an epic backdrop because they know that free-giggly stoke you get when you strip in a semi-public place and whip your hair around just because it feels good and you can.” I adore their willingness to be spontaneous and get naked, just because it feels right. “There’s three of them – this series is more so a tribute to those girls, and girls just like them. “Most of the spots are common knowledge… some are just by accident, intending to go one place and somewhere else – that’s usually the moment we decide it’s a good place to get naked.” I can choose how long I want to go for and if I don’t have a lot of time, it’s ridiculously easy to just go do something sick for a couple hours.”

I’d say the majority of my photos are taken here in BC, mostly on the coast and in the North Shore, the lower mainland makes it so ridiculously easy to play and capture it on camera. I have a huge archive of favourite places places to hit up depending on my mood. “I grew up in and around Vancouver, BC and made a move up to Whistler last fall, don’t think I have intentions of leaving anytime soon.
